From the A1 take the A168 towards Thirsk, take second access
road off the A168 marked Thirsk and Scarborough. Follow signs for A170 and
Scarborough. After travelling along the A170 for about 3 miles you drive
through the village of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe, on the left hand side
about ¾ mile on the Scarborough side of the village is Rose Cottage Farm.
Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton
district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the A170 at the foot of
Sutton Bank
(or Roulston Scar to give its precise name), about three miles east of
Thirsk
(one-time home of the novel-writing vet James Herriot).
